We visited Kőszeg which is right next to the border between Hungary and Austria.
Kőszeg in Hungary is a cute little town that jumps right off the pages of fairy tales and where its folk still have faith in humanity! Kőszeg is a charming little town that reminded me of the Grimm brothers. Besides the wonderful center with narrow little streets it offers plenty of interesting historical stories, unique customs and many opportunities to go on hiking journeys. There are several hiking trails to explore with amazing view also to the town it self.

The town is famous for the so called Becsület Kassza, in English Honaray system, which is basicly a tradition the locals started. Locals place handmade or selfgrown items in the morning infront of their doors/homes, mark the items how much they cost and you just place the money in a box. With this basicly the people trust anyone who wants to buy something that they leave the rightfull amount. I found this very interseting so ofcourse we had to buy something aswell 🙂 You dont see this too often anywhere else that people have faiht in humanity.
