The Andrássy Avenue in Budapest is a UNESCO World Heritage listed avenue thanks to it’s history, the beatiful buildings lining on the sides and the millenial subway running under it and in this video we’ll be exploring it’s full length.
Plus some unique places on the side streets. Budapest’s downtown is connected with it’s large City park via the Andrássy Avenue.
Anyone who visits Budapest probably either crossed it or went under it when traveling with Subway to the Széchenyi Thermal Bath or to the Városliget City Park, but one of the major transport crossings, the Oktogon is also located here.
It’s lined with historical buildings and areas like the Hungarian State Opera house, the Kodály Körönd, or the several gorgeous palaces that host the Embassies of foreign countries. There are also many museums located here, like the House of Terror. And of course right at it’s end you have the Heroes square.
But the Andrássy Avenue also has 3 distinct faces, which becomes evident as you walk the roughly 3 km length of it. It’s a realy fun experience to explore it and observ the small details of each building here! In this videon we take the Journey all the way from Heroes Square to the Erzsébet square in the downtown, we check some interesting hidden gems like the Epres garden or cafés and also show you a cool spot for a great photograph of the St Stephens Basilica!
