The Amazing Wine Region of Lake Balaton: Badacsony | Day 1
What to visit if you go to Lake Balaton? If you enjoy excellent Wine, enjoy hiking in Nature then the Badacsony Region is a great choice!
Badacsony is a unique region of Lake Balaton in Hungary. The unique greenish-blueish colored lake is one of the most popular destination for Hungarians to visit, and the Badacsony region is one of my favorite ones from the many places around it! It has so much to offer: Mountains to hike, amazing wine to drink and tasty food to try! So if you plan to visit Lake Balaton when traveling to Hungary, this area should be on your itenary!
We visited the Badacsony region for 3 days and try to explore as much of the area as possible!
On Day 1, we hiked up to the Badacsony mountain, tried to get some nice views of the region and the Balaton lake. We also got some nice snacks from a local bakery-cafe called La Tene Cafe and Bakery. Then as we descended from the mountain we stopped by some local wineries to get a taste of the local grapes: Szürkebarát, Olaszrizling and Kéknyelű. If you are a fan of white wine, you will love this region!
We also checked out the beach to relax a bit after the long hike and finally we tried one of the best restaurants of the town we stayed, Hableány. Badacsony is a geographically unique area of Hungary, if you look at a map you will see many vulcano shaped mountains in the area. That similarity is no accident. Many of these mountains used to be vulcanoes and thanks to this, the soil of the region is very good for wine making!

Margaret Island is in the heart of Budapest, but despite this central location it is actually a pretty cool place to find some peace while also being active! In this video we explored the Island and listed what are the Best 14 Things to Do if you visit Margaret Island. Trust us, it’s worth a visit! You can easily spend a whole day on Margaret Island, it is one of the best places of Budapest if you look for a little bit of chill since you are surrounded by nature, have a ton of places to do Picnic, play ball or frisbee.
But you also be very active here if you rent a buggy that you need to power with your legs, or go to the Palatinus Beach and take a nice swim (or just sunbathe right next to the pools). It’s a great place for Families, children will love the many playgrounds, the musical fountain or exploring the ruins of old buildings of Margaret Island. But if you come with friends to Budapest, then certainly the many bars of the island will give you the opportunity to grab a few drinks while enjoying the nice weather and have some good talks.
Oh, and did I mention there is also a Mini Zoo here that’s the extension of the main Budapest City Zoo? Here there are Animals that required special care and are currently rehabilitating, so make sure to visit them and cheer for them so they get better soon!

Where Cavemen lived | Hiking in Szalajka Valley
The Szalajka Valley is one of the most popular hiking spots in Hungary, and it’s not a surprise: Many natural wonders and amazing sights await you!
As you walk along the Szalajka stream in the valley, visit Lakes that are the homes of the special local trout, plus there is a unique Cave where once Cavemen lived. In this video we’ll show you guys the Valley so you can get inspired for a visit! It is a true Natural Treasure of Hungary! The Szalajka Völgy (Valley) is right next to the town of Szilvásvárad and it is part of the larger Bükki National Park (Bükki Nemzeti Park) that hosts many amazing natural treasures.
It can be reached from Budapest by public Transport in 3 hours, or about 2 hours by car. But visiting from nearby Town of Eger may also be a good approach since its less than an hour from there with public transport, or under 30 mins by car.
A local variety of trout (Pisztráng in Hungarian) is the best food choice of the area. Locals have created lakes along the Szalajka stream to breed this unique species of fish and they have been doing so for the past 100 years! For those of you who enjoy hiking, this is an excellent area that offers so much more, and we plan to visit other places here that show what a great are the Bükk is for nature lovers!

At the Top of Budapest! | Exploring Normafa
In this video we’ll show you guys a cool area of Budapest that is often overseen by visitors of the capitol of Hungary: Normafa.
If you seek a little peace, surrounded by nature then this is a great place to visit, plus it also offers some amazing views of Budapest from the top! Normafa is part of the Buda hills and is still part of the city of Budapest! You can easily reach the area with public transport, in around 30 minutes from the city center! So if you want to do a bit of hiking in nature, but don’t want to go far from the city, then Normafa is one of the best places to go to!
The best view you can get is probably at the Erzsébet kilátó on Jánoshegy, a lookout tower thats free to enter! It is an ideal place for people with Family as kids can enjoy the lush green parks and the playgrounds, but also great for couples and group of friends to hang out (and maybe do an outdoor grilling!)
There are many cool ways to get up to Normafa besides using the bus.
– You can reach it with the unique cogwheel train from Városmajor. As this is part of the regular public transport system, your passes are valid for the “Fogaskerekű” (as we call the cogwheel train!).
– You can also use the Childrens Railway, which is a railway operated by kids! There are even Nostalgia trains running on the line, so check their website for more info if you want to use the services: https://gyermekvasut.hu/en/home/
– And probably the most scenic way up (or down) is the chairlift (libegő). Check their website for more info: https://bkk.hu/en/travel-information/public-transport/chairlift/
– Right next to the Libegő there is a Bus Stop for nr 291. This Bus takes you back to Nyugati Railway station. So if you want to go back to the city, or go to the Chairlift you can easily use this Bus!

Visiting the Old town of Warsaw and Hotel Room Tour | Poland
Is it worth to visit the Old town in Warsaw? In this video I try to find the answer to myself as I travel to the Polish capitol.
I just love Old Towns, it’s the beating heart and the center of local culture and flavors of any city you visit. I had a chance to visit Warsaw briefly, so I could not miss out visiting the Old town! But here is the thing: as I talked to some local friends, some of them said that the old town isn’t really worth a visit. I thought to myself that can’t be right, I looked at google maps and saw the pictures and I was very curious. However, some of the reasoning on why it’s not worth to visit made some sense: The old town simply put isn’t that old. During World War II Warsaw was bombed heavily and basically destroyed to the ground. The center of the town had to be built again from scratch, however they wanted to bring back the old flavor and the houses are supposably restored to their former glory, or at least representing what it used to be like. So I visited the Old town of Warsaw to find out for myself, is it overrated, or is it something you can enjoy?

Warsaw was under 2 hours away by plane, so it’s easy to access it from my hometown of Budapest. I enjoyed my stay, and may return in the future to Warsaw and Poland, food was nice and there are a lot more places to visit in the city and the country as well (like Krakow of course :))

The Villa District nobody knows about
Are you looking for areas in Budapest off the tourist maps? In this video we show you a unique area thats worth a visit if you want to see things off the beaten path.
There is an Unknown part of Budapest which is doesn’t get the attention it deserves: The Villa District between Ajtósi Dürer sor and Thököly út! Officially it’s not known as Villa District in Budapest, so that also kinda shows how unknown this place really is. However there are a ton of stories to make this area stand out! The Villa area is located in the 14th District, also known as Zugló. It is a real in-between compared to the busy downtown and the laid back outer city districts. In older times many famous Hungarians lived in these areas, and a lot of successful businessmen built their homes here. Today in this small part you can visit many historic buildings and some of them are kept in really good shape!
Most of them even have very unique stories, like one that has a Lion statue that was part of a trial, or a building that looks like a castle and doesnt really fit with all the other buildings. It is a really chill and cool place, so if you want to visit an off the beaten path area on your trip to Budapest, this is quite a nice place to hang out.
There are also some new restaurants popping up, and we visited one of them: Szaletly – https://g.page/szaletly?share We really enjoyed our food here and the service was also very kind and nice. Good to see you can get excellent restaurant experience further away from the inner city.

We start our journey at the historic Hősök tere / Heroes Square which can be found on many tourist itenaries as a memorial to visit (no wonder it’s a Unesco World Heritage site). We visit the famous Gundel Cafe and restaurant for their world famous Pancake
There is also the historic Zoo with many nice animals to visit, if you want to know more about it, check out our full video. You can easily spend a day a here if you want to fully enjoy. We also pass by the popular Széchenyi Thermal Bath. It’s a must visit place on most tourist lists, so if you want to know what’s it like, here is a video we made about it.
We then took a Balloon ride, which is a cool new attraction and lets you see Budapest like never before 150 meters above ground! We took a Boat Ride on the lake that’s right next to the cool Vadjahunyad Castle too.
Then we walked by the new House of Music / Magyar Zene Háza. This place offer a cool interactive experience, a journey through the history of music (Both Hungarian and the World’s music). Check out our video to see how that is.
There are many places that offer food and drinks in the area, we stopped by Zöld Küllő, but there is Pántlika as well or places like Nyereg or Piknik Kert!
The newest attraction is the Museum of Ethnography / Néprajzi Múzeum. It is a very cool looking building that also hosts a free exhibition and a paid exhibition as well for you to enjoy!
There are also many Playgrounds and other sport parks located here for you to enjoy! Then there is the Millienium Cafe House, an old building that got renovated nicely, now hosting a gallery and a cafe/restaurant!
Last but not least, there are many different Festivals throughout the year, in this video we visited Főzdefeszt, a Craft Beer festival and had some nice food and drinks there!

A Wonderful Day and How I Adopted an Animal 🙂
What is the Budapest Zoo like and what kind of animals are there? In this video we’ll show you what experience awaits you in the city Zoo of the Hungarian Capitol. The Budapest Zoo (or Állatkert) offers an excellent experience that can last almost a whole day! It is probably one of the cutest places you can visit in the Hungarian capital as it hosts about 1070 different species from the Animal Kingdom. In this video we are showing you what the experience is like in the Budapest Zoo and what nice and friendly animals you can visit. Oh, and we are also Adopting one of the residents of the Zoo!
The Budapest Zoo was established in 1866, and it is one of the few very old Zoo’s around the world that has survived till this day. It hosts about 1070 species, but it is also renowned as a Botanical Garden with about 2000 different plants, flowers and trees. The total population is somewhere around 10,000, so there are many cute creatures to check out and some very interesting looking ones! In the Zoo there are events to bring you closer to the animals that you encounter, some of these let the residents show off their skills like at the Seal show, or give you insights into how the creatures are kept and what fun facts you can know about them, this also gives a chance to personally ask questions to the caretakers if you are really interested!
In this video we are checking out the march of the Penguins, the skills of the Seals, we grab a famous hungarian street food called Lángos, watch as the Elephants play in their pool and grab a local sweet called Kürtöskalács (Chimney cake). And while we are in the Zoo, we search for a cute fellow whom we could adopt!
Running a Zoo isn’t cheap, and besides the ticket revenue the Budapes Zoo also heavily relies on donations. One cool way to donate and support the wellbeing of these animals is to Adopt one of the residents, there are 400 different named animals for you to support. Obviously you cannot take the animals home, an Elephant in a suburban garden may look out of place, but you can call yourself the proud Fairy Godmother or something of one of the animals, plus you get to attend 2 of the yearly Parent meetings. You can give this adoption also as a gift to someone. Besides these you also get a certificate of recognition, a CV of the animal, a photograph and Pin to display showing off as being a proud supporter!
